Serviam Girls Academy issued the following announcement on Oct. 15.
Today we celebrate our 2019 CRISP Award Winners. Carl Taylor and Michael & Charlotte Arnold!
Michael and Charlotte Arnold have been a part of the Serviam family since its inception. Michael helped form the original Steering Committee and participated in the creation of the governing documents, Board of Directors, and the school’s opening in 2008. Michael recently stepped down from four years as Chair
of the Board and remains an active member of the Board of Directors. While Serviam long benefited
from her wisdom, Charlotte brought her vast experience to Serviam upon her retirement, helping create a comprehensive financial reporting program as well as helping to plan and facilitate Serviam’s 10th Anniversary Donor Wall Unveiling and 10th annual Evening Under the Stars. Beyond their incredibly generous and consistent financial support, in everything they do, and certainly in their dedication to Serviam Girls Academy, the Arnold’s embody CRISP values.
Ever since his daughter Danielle Taylor enrolled in Serviam, Carl Taylor has embodied its meaning, I will serve. Mr. Taylor, as he is known around the school, introduced martial arts and self defense to our students during Danielle’s first year, a course that has since become an integral part of Serviam’s Enrichment Program. This past year, after his daughter graduated from Serviam, Mr. Taylor assumed the role of choir director, sharing his gifts with our girls weekly, leading them in singing the Star Spangled Banner for Axalta’s grand opening of their new Innovation Center in Philadelphia, preparing them for our community- wide Black History Month celebration, and coaching our 8th graders through a special tribute at graduation. Mr. Taylor is a consistent and much loved presence in our school, and the true embodiment of CRISP values.
