A sum of $667,300 capital referendum has been approved by voters in Smyrna School District, in which voters call a victory for the school.
The referendum in Smyrna School District was held recently and the results showed a heavy tilt of the voters in favor of the cause. Three hundred seventeen residents of Smyrna School District voted in favor while 134 voted against the cause, according to Delaware Republic.
The additional funds approved as a result of this referendum will go toward the repair budget of North Smyrna Elementary School.
“This money will allow the district administration to repair the roof and plumbing at the elementary school," Superintendent Patrik Williams said.
A lot of equipment at the school needs replacement as well and the fund will cater to all those requirements.
The average taxpayers rate in the district is said to increase $3 annually due to this tax increase approval.
