ChristianaCare issued the following announcement on Aug. 13.

ChristianaCare President and CEO Janice E. Nevin, M.D., MPH, was recognized in the eighth annual Connected World Women of Technology and IoT 2020 list, comprised of notable women who are powerful, smart and tech-savvy across a host of markets addressing specialized consumer needs.

These trailblazers are chosen because they each bring a unique lens to their respective companies, helping push innovation forward and unleashing economic prosperity as a result of their expertise. In addition, these winners have a remarkable vision for people, digital transformation and innovation.

“We need even more women in leadership today,” said Peggy Smedley, president of Specialty Publishing Media and editorial director of Connected World. “I respect this year’s women for understanding our future needs of sustainability and other transformative initiatives that make our lives better. I consider all of these women to be truly avant-garde.”

In recognizing Dr. Nevin during the Aug. 6 virtual ceremony, Smedley highlighted her leadership in “pioneering value-based care while spearheading transformation.” She also recognized Dr. Nevin’s role in guiding ChristianaCare’s development of CareVio, “a unique data-driven care-coordination platform to proactively address patients’ social and behavioral health needs, in addition to their medical needs. Her vision and collaborative leadership style help to guide this innovation in health care.”

Each year, Connected World compiles nominations submitted by industry and researched by the editorial team. The Women of Technology entries are judged by a panel of past winners who determine the new winners based on criteria including involvement with technology, how each individual has helped a company prosper and progress, how she has contributed to the growth of technology, and how she has mentored other women and goes above and beyond to support other women in business, technology, transformation and her local community. These individuals have taken a big swath across their industry to help create a diverse leadership effort in order to move the needle forward—especially in the IoT (Internet of Things), AI (artificial intelligence), security, digital transformation, and other emerging tech arenas within key specialized markets.
